EXPERIENCE FROM BOTH SIDES OF THE AISLE
Will provides unique and valuable insight to his clients from his experience as both a prosecutor and defense attorney. Before co-founding del Cuadro-Zimmerman & Mount, PLLC, Will worked as Special Assistant U.S. Attorney for the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of Columbia. During his time at the U.S. Attorney’s Office, he litigated domestic violence cases and advocated for victims’ rights in D.C. court. Will also has extensive experience in every phase of representation in criminal cases, beginning with defending clients from arraignment through trial and appeals.
Will currently litigates for both the Juvenile Delinquency and the Child Abuse and Neglect (CCAN) Panels before the District of Columbia Superior Court. Will also accepts criminal defense appointments before Maryland District Courts in both Prince George’s and Anne Arundel County, Maryland. He is an active member of the Superior Court Trial Lawyer’s Association, the Family Court Trial Lawyer’s Association and the Maryland Criminal Defense Attorney’s Association.
EXPERTISE IN CRIMINAL LAW
Will has a longstanding foundation in criminal law on local and international levels. In law school, he competed on the International Moot Court Board, where his team qualified for the semi-finals at the Pace University International Criminal Court Competition, and subsequently competed in the Hague, Netherlands at the World International Criminal Court Competition.
Will worked for many criminal justice organizations including the U.S. Department of Justice, the American Civil Liberties Union, the Miami State Attorney’s Office and the Miami Public Defender’s Office. Most notably, Will worked for the United Nations International Criminal Tribunal for Rwanda, where as a Legal Intern for Chambers, he assisted Chambers in drafting the Ntawukulilyayo trial judgment. The long awaited judgment sentenced Dominique Ntawukulilyayo to twenty years in prison for committing acts of genocide in Rwanda.
EDUCATION AND BACKROUND
Will was born and raised in Dayton, Ohio. He received a Bachelor of Arts degree cum laude in Political Science and Criminal Justice from American University in Washington, D.C. While in college, Will served as the President of the Residence Hall Association on campus and was named the Central Atlantic Residence Hall Association President of the Year.
Will received his Juris Doctorate degree from the University of Miami in Florida. While in law school, he represented his class before the Florida Bar Law Student Division and served as the President of the American Constitution Society. He received summer fellowships through both the Helping Others through Public Service (“HOPE”) and the Center for Ethics and Public Service. He was recognized for his public service by receiving the prestigious Outstanding Public Interest Scholarship.
Will loves sports and athletic endeavors near and far. Will is an avid fan of the Baltimore Orioles, Washington Capitals, and D.C. United. He enjoys attending local games as well as the Baltimore Symphony. While traveling in Tanzania during law school, he summited Mount Kilimanjaro, the tallest mountain in Africa. Will looks forward to conquering ever challenging peaks!
